What motivates parents to mediate children’s use of smartphones? An application of the theory of planned behavior
Published 2020“…A survey conducted with parents of young smartphone users aged 10–17 shows that parents tend to perceive discussion-based active mediation to be more desirable, as compared to rule-making restrictive mediation. Findings also indicate that the extent to which parents believe that they have control over their parental mediation practices plays an important role in forming positive intentions to practice parental mediation, regardless of the mediation domain.…”

An impedance based microfluidic biosensor for white blood cell counting
Published 2019“…The concept of an integrated microfluidic chip is novel because of the unprecedented convenience it offers to its users within the biomedical sector; based on the principles of inertial microfluidics and impedance cytometry, it enables particles of different sizes to be sorted and counted fast without the need for full laboratory facilities. Among other things, applications for such a chip would include detecting of rare cells in biological samples, for example, the presence of neutrophils in urine which might be indicative of a urinary tract infection.…”

Characterization of progesterone receptor isoform-selective activities of progesterone receptor modulators in breast cancer cells.
Published 2008“…This study suggest that the effects of PRMs is pathway-selective: antiprogestins mediated growth-inhibitory effect through both PR-A and PR-B but antiprogestins mediated distinct effects on cell morphology, focal adhesion and the expression of cell adhesion genes in cells expressing either PR-A or PR-B. Moreover, findings in this study imply that the functional difference between PR-A and PR-B are PR ligand-dependent. …”
