Three distinct 3-methylcytidine (m3C) methyltransferases modify tRNA and mRNA in mice and humans
Published 2018“…METTL8, however, modified only mRNA, as determined by biochemical and genetic analyses in Mettl8 null-mutant mice and two human METTL8 mutant cell lines. Our findings provide the first evidence of the existence of m3C modification in mRNA, and the discovery of METTL8 as an mRNA m3C writer enzyme opens the door to future studies of other m3C epitranscriptomic reader and eraser functions.…”

Dynamic restructuring of Cu-doped SnS2 nanoflowers for highly selective electrochemical CO2 reduction to formate
Published 2022“…Theoretical thermodynamic analysis of reaction energetics indicates that the optimal electronic structure of the Sn active site can be regulated by both S-doping and Cu-alloying to favor formate formation, while the CO and H2 pathways will be suppressed. Our findings provide a rational strategy for electronic modulation of metal active site(s) for the design of active and selective electrocatalysts towards CO2 RR.…”

Fabrication and characterization of a novel mullite-stainless steel composed hollow fibre membrane for oil/water separation
Published 2024“…Afterwards, they were evaluated in an oil/water separation system regarding water flux and oil rejection rate. Based on the findings, there was a gradual increase in the bending strength from 32.1 to 79.8 MPa with increased SS contents from 0 to 12 % (w/w). …”

Rationalisation of antifungal properties of α-helical pore-forming peptide, mastoparan B
Published 2022“…We show that MB susceptibility of phylogenetically distant non-candida albicans can vary and be described by different intrinsic physicochemical parameters of pore-forming α-helical peptides. These findings have potential therapeutic implications for the design and development of safe antifungal peptide-based drugs.…”
