Exploring population structure, antibiotic resistance and horizontal gene transfer in Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Published 2024“…The results were as follows: 1) A new, stable taxonomic nomenclature using LIN codes was developed, and demonstrated to provide improved resolution and reliability when defining gonococcal lineages. 2) The most common species contributing to mosaic N. gonorrhoeae penA alleles were shown to be Neisseria subflava and Neisseria cinerea, and resistance associated polymorphisms were found to be widespread across the genus. 3) African gonococci were shown to predominantly carry non-mosaic penA alleles and belong to a distinct range of lineages, with LIN code lineage 0_0_33 dominating, while common global lineages 0_2_0 and 0_2_1 were rare.…”

Performance improvements of microchannel heat sink using wavy channel and nanofluids
Published 2015“…Three wave amplitudes of 25 μm, 50 μm and 75 μm with two wavelength of 250 μm and 500 μm at volumetric flow rate ranges from 0.152 L/min to 0.354 L/min are considered. Three different types of nanofluids with volume concentration ranges from 1% to 5% are applied. …”

Thermal and mechanical assessments of the 3D-printed conformal cooling channels : computational analysis and multi-objective optimization
Published 2021“…As for the circular channel, the coolant temperature, volume flow rate, and channel diameter are selected as the parameters within the ranges of 288.0-298.0 K, 1.0-10.0 L/min, and 2.1-2.5 mm, respectively. According to these parameters, the multi-objective optimization study is performed and the best trade-off point is found at the channel diameter of 2.5 mm, coolant temperature of 297 K, and the flow rate of 1 L/min when all the objectives have equal weights in the optimization problem.…”

Numerical methods for finite-size key rates with different entropic bounds in quantum key distribution
Published 2024“…Following the ideas of Dupuis, we also formulated a generalized alpha-Renyi entropic bound on the secret key rate under i.i.d. collective attack, and showed regions of improvement from the conventional approach of using the smooth min-entropy. In particular, we proposed a generalized optimization method for the Renyi entropy for alpha = (1,2] and the min-entropy by adapting from Winick et al.'…”

Electrospinning of low density PCL fibers on SLS scaffold
Published 2010“…The parameters to produce low density PCL scaffold of 0.5-1um diameter fibers were established to be acceleration voltage= 25kV, feed rate= 0.5ml/h, rotational speed= 1500rpm and time= 1min. On the other hand, electrospinning with the same duration of 1min produces a higher density scaffold while varying acceleration voltage to 15kV and feed rate of 10ml/h; 8-10um fibers were obtained. …”

Simulation and investigation of Gradient Refractive Index Profile (GRIP) and photonic effect in micro-fluidic waveguide of different geometries
Published 2013“…With the aid of professional software COMSOL’s Microfuildic model and RSoft’s beamprop module by designing liquid core and liquid cladding waveguides of different shapes including rectangle ,up-trapezoid, down-trapezoid, para-saddle and para-rhombus and injecting deionized water with refractive index of 1.335 into liquid core and 5M CaCl2 solution into liquid core at from 1ul/ min to 15 ul / min , the GRIN profiles and optical effects like chirped focusing and interference vary accordingly .The purpose of the study is to find the pattern of how the GRIN profile and optical effects change with the composition ,flow rate and shape.…”
