Systematic literature review: Lean ergonomics analysis in small & medium enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing sector
Published 2024“…The study followed a structured review protocol, formulating research questions and systematically searching the Scopus and WoS databases. The findings reveal several key points: (1) SMEs commonly implement ergonomics principles addressing awkward postures, repetitive movements, manual material handling, hand-wrist postures, excessive reach, grip strength, and prolonged standing; (2) Lean principles such as SMED, 5S, standardized work, TPM, VSM, and kanban positively impact ergonomics; (3) Various ergonomics assessment methods, including REBA, RULA, HFE, JSI, KIM, OCRA, and Shoaf’s model, are recommended for future research and practical application; (4) Ergonomics can underpin lean transformation efforts, with Lean Manufacturing (LM) contributing to reduced ergonomics risks. …”

Adaptive social networks promote the wisdom of crowds
Published 2021“…To explain these results, we explore two mechanisms: 1) a global-adaptation mechanism where the structural connectivity of the network itself changes such that it amplifies the estimates of high-performing members within the group (i.e., the network “edges” encode the computation); and 2) a local-adaptation mechanism where accurate individuals are more resistant to social influence (i.e., adjustments to the attributes of the “node” in the network); therefore, their initial belief is disproportionately weighted in the collective estimate. Our findings substantiate the role of social-network plasticity and feedback as key adaptive mechanisms for refining individual and collective judgments.…”

Impacts of the Sudden Stratospheric Warming on Equatorial Plasma Bubbles: Suppression of EPBs and Quasi-6-Day Oscillations
Published 2024“…The combination of these multi-instrument observations and numerical simulations demonstrates that certain planetary waves like the Q6DW can significantly influence the day-to-day variability of EPBs, especially during the SSW period, through modulating the strength of prereversal enhancement and the growth rate of R-T instability via the wind-driven dynamo. These findings provide novel insights into the connection between atmospheric planetary waves and ionospheric EPBs.…”

On the geometry and refined rate of primal–dual hybrid gradient for linear programming
Published 2024“…We show that there are two major stages of PDHG for LP: in Stage I, PDHG identifies active variables and the length of the first stage is driven by a certain quantity which measures how close the non-degeneracy part of the LP instance is to degeneracy; in Stage II, PDHG effectively solves a homogeneous linear inequality system, and the complexity of the second stage is driven by a well-behaved local sharpness constant of the system. This finding is closely related to the concept of partial smoothness in non-smooth optimization, and it is the first complexity result of finite time identification without the non-degeneracy assumption. …”
