The incidence of perfect moments: acoustic eloquence and narrative terroir in modern fiction
Published 2022“…Where such fictions frequently exhibit moments of extraordinary musicality within the medium of language, I posit that the terroir of music production finds equivalence in the semantics of the modern novel. Turning this lens towards three novels: Graham Swift’s Waterland (1983), Steven Galloway’s The Cellist of Sarajevo (2008), and Samuel Beckett’s How It Is (1964), this thesis will demonstrate that the curation of this terroir of semantic meaning imposes itself as a structural and circumstantial binding condition on the acoustics of language in the modern novel, and thus forms an essential component in the cadences of its sounds and musicality of its words.…”

Mary Wollstonecraft : a feminist and/or misogynist of her time?
Published 2011“…However, as it becomes clear that the achievement of social equality and the reformation of family structures would not be possible in the absence of equal gender rights, Wollstonecraft turns to focus on arguing for female rights. Despite the flaws that can be found in Wollstonecraft’s arguments, it is clear that she has indeed made valuable contributions to modern feminist thought. …”

Machine learning attack on hardware implementation of one-way function
Published 2017“…This project attempts to attack Arbiter PUF with several machine learning algorithms and compare their performance to obtain the most effective learning algorithm against this type of PUF. It turns out that Support Vector Machine (SVM) is the most effective learning algorithm among all the six algorithms tested (Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting, Neural Network, and SVM) to attack the PUF in terms of effectiveness and efficiency, which has prediction accuracy of 99% with relatively small amount of training data. …”
