Health economic aspects of childhood excess weight
Published 2024“…My analyses of CPRD-HES data revealed that children living with overweight and obesity incurred significantly higher direct healthcare costs than their peers with a healthy weight. In comparison to children with healthy weight, those living with overweight generated additional costs of £133.93 and £66.32, on average, in the year preceding and following a BMI measurement, respectively, while children with obesity incurred additional costs of £115.47 and £154.51, on average, during the same periods. …”

Al2O3-Cu hybrid nanofluid flow and heat transfer characteristics in the duct with various triangular rib configurations
Published 2024“…Key findings include: (1) the 60° rib configuration produced the highest local heat transfer coefficient, with the maximum occurring at the rib centers. (2) Increasing nanofluid concentration and Reynolds number enhanced heat transfer but reduced skin friction. (3) The optimal performance was achieved with 2 vol.% Al2O3–Cu at Re = 60,000. (4) Velocity contours revealed larger recirculation zones for 60° ribs compared to 45° and 90° configurations. (5) Turbulent kinetic energy was highest for 60° ribs, contributing to enhanced thermal performance. …”

Distributed multilevel storage infrastructure for visual surveillance in intelligent transportation networks
Published 2018“…By assuming that the network is static over a window of time, we design an algorithm to construct a deterministic network code that sets up the multicast connections from the source processes to destinations (either storage helpers or data centers) for every feasible solution satisfying the set of graph-theoretic-constraints in the LO model to deal with the networks at small to medium scales. …”

Phase evolution and room-temperature photoluminescence in amorphous SiC alloy
Published 2013“…The underlying PL mechanism is explained in the framework of quantum confinement-luminescence center model. The photoexcitation process occurs in the nc-Si quantum dots embedded in the host SiC matrix, whereas the photoemission process occurs in the luminescence centers in the surrounding SiC or at SiC-Si interfaces. …”
