Petrogenesis of Permian high-Mg diorites in the northern margin of the North China Craton: Evidence of crust–mantle interaction
Published 2024“…The Nd-Hf isotopic compositions of the high-Mg diorites are decoupled as a consequence of interactions between subducting sediment-derived fluids and mantle peridotite. In light of the above, we propose a two-stage process for the formation of the Xinhure high-Mg diorite, comprising (1) partial melting of enriched mantle peridotite followed by (2) interaction between mantle-derived high-Mg diorite melts and continental crust-derived melts. …”

A Framework for Robust Long-Term Voltage Stability of Distribution Systems
Published 2024“…IEEE Power injection uncertainties in distribution power grids, which are mostly induced by aggressive introduction of intermittent renewable sources, may drive the system away from normal operating regimes and potentially lead to the loss of long-term voltage stability (LTVS). …”

Exponential tail local Rademacher complexity risk bounds without the Bernstein condition

Relational persistent homology for multispecies data with application to the tumor microenvironment
Published 2024“…We demonstrate that relational topological features can extract biological insight, including the dominant immune cell phenotype (an important predictor of patient prognosis) and the parameter regimes of a data-generating model. The methods provide a quantitative perspective on the relational analysis of multispecies spatial data, overcome the limits of traditional PH, and are readily computable.…”

Fine-scale population structure and widespread conservation of genetic effect sizes between human groups across traits
Published 2025“…To estimate the similarity of genetic effect sizes between groups, we developed ANCHOR, which estimates changes in the predictive power of an existing PGS in distinct local ancestry segments. ANCHOR infers highly similar (estimated correlation 0.98 ± 0.07) effect sizes between UK Biobank participants of African and European ancestry for 47 of 53 quantitative phenotypes, suggesting that gene–environment and gene–gene interactions do not play major roles in poor cross-ancestry PGS transferability for these traits in the United Kingdom, and providing optimism that shared causal mutations operate similarly in different populations.…”

Instabilities in tidal turbine wakes
Published 2023“…Unsteady inflow causes the turbine blades to shed vorticity of time-varying strength into the wake, which in turn leads to a spatial variation in wake vortex strength, such that the vorticity of adjacent returning wake segments can differ. This spatial variation triggers the instability of tip vortices, the characteristics of which are shown to be governed by the ’frequency ratio’ ω/ΩNB (where ω is harmonic inflow frequency, Ω is turbine rotational frequency and NB is the number of blades). …”
