Investigating molecular vulnerabilities in TP53-mutant transformed myeloproliferative neoplasms
Published 2024“…To investigate the mechanisms by which PCBP2 is required to support <em>TP53</em>-sAML, RNA-seq data from a cancer cell line model was analysed following <em>PCBP2</em> depletion for differentially expressed genes and alternative splicing events. Splice analysis showed the extent of PCBP2 regulation with a number of isoforms switching events relevant to myeloid malignancies. …”

Efficient FPGA realization of inner-products of variable vectors
Published 2014“…However, this method will increase the usage of LUTs (lookup tables) and Register slices. DA (Distributed arithmetic) has been widely used for implementation of inner-products, and the proposed design introduced in this report is a novel time efficient flexible solution for bit-parallel DA-based implementation of inner-product of variable vectors. …”

Securing untrusted memories in embedded systems
Published 2020“…This thesis aims to address this challenge by proposing compile-time and runtime strategies for securing untrusted memories from active memory attacks (e.g. replay, spoo ng and splicing attacks) that can compromise the con dentiality and integrity of the memory data. …”

Multi-description multipath video streaming in wireless ad hoc networks
Published 2013“…An unbalanced-path based joint two-description video coding and description packet allocation utilizing redundant slices is proposed, which allocates slices in each description to two paths with varying bandwidth and optimally selects the amount of inserted redundancy according to different loss rates. …”

A memetic approach to vehicle routing problem with dynamic requests
Published 2017“…Another key factor in accomplishing high quality results is attributed to the proposed effective mechanism of knowledge transfer between partial solutions developed in consecutive time slices. While particular problem encoding and memetic local optimization scheme were already presented in the literature, the novelty of this work lies in their innovative combination into one synergetic system as well as their application to a different problem than in the original works.…”

Pan-cancer analysis of whole genomes
Published 2020“…A collection of papers from the PCAWG Consortium describes non-coding mutations that drive cancer beyond those in the TERT promoter; identifies new signatures of mutational processes that cause base substitutions, small insertions and deletions and structural variation; analyses timings and patterns of tumour evolution; describes the diverse transcriptional consequences of somatic mutation on splicing, expression levels, fusion genes and promoter activity; and evaluates a range of more-specialized features of cancer genomes.…”

NMDA receptor activation enhances inhibitory GABAergic transmission onto hippocampal pyramidal neurons via presynaptic and postsynaptic mechanisms
Published 2011“…Here, we report that a brief application of NMDA could induce two distinct actions in CA1 pyramidal neurons in mouse hippocampal slices: 1) an inward current attributed to activation of postsynaptic NMDARs; and 2) fast phasic synaptic currents, namely spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents (sIPSCs), mediated by GABAA receptors in pyramidal neurons. …”
