Miniaturization of terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz) by Thean, Lester Zhi Hui

    Published 2024
“…One of the earliest suggestions for the miniaturization of spectroscopy dating back to a study published in 2008, where Dr Kaori Fukunaga suggested in her study titled “Terahertz Spectroscopy for Non-Invasive Analysis of Cultural Properties”, that that since “cultural properties are most preferably studied onsite, we [ the research sector] must work toward miniaturization of a terahertz spectroscopy system” One of the latest development of such a portable system dates to 2023 where in an study titled “High-sensitivity computational miniaturized terahertz spectrometer using a plasmonic filter array and a modified multilayer residual CNN” by the Micro-Nano Fabrication Center at Zhejiang University managed to successfully built a computational miniaturized THz spectrometer which demonstrated the possibility for a miniaturized THz spectrometer, and thus promotes the application of the THz spectroscopy technique in handheld and portable scenarios. …”

Characterization of vinyltriethoxysilanetetraethoxysilane- tetrabutoxytitanate hydrophobic solgel coating fo r photovoltaic panels by Hamidon, Siti Nur Nashya Azlika

    Published 2022
“…The best sample obtained was the CM TA sample with the highest post-bake thermal treatment (150°C) which exhibited the highest contact angle (110.01°), surface roughness (0.452 nm) and transmission percentage (96% centered at 571 nm of wavelength). All coating samples were prepared in ambient condition with promising performance, eliminating the need for controlled condition based on previous research to suit the varied temperature and humidity for different coating preparation.…”

Advanced application of ground-penetrating radar in underground tree root systems detection and mapping by Luo, Wenhao

    Published 2023
“…In order to enhance the GPR detection capability, a balance between the high resolution achieved via higher frequency samples and the deep penetration depth achieved via lower frequency samples needs to be achieved. Researchers have proposed several multi-frequency GPR data fusion algorithms for the classical pulse center frequency GPRs [7] [8] [9, 10] [11], the center frequency for these pulse GPRs are 100 MHz, 200 MHz and 400 MHz for permafrost subgrade condition assessment and 205MHz, 500MHz and 800MHz for limestone detection. …”

Designing for Hybrid Intelligence: A Taxonomy and Survey of Crowd-Machine Interaction by António Correia, Andrea Grover, Daniel Schneider, Ana Paula Pimentel, Ramon Chaves, Marcos Antonio de Almeida, Benjamim Fonseca

    Published 2023-02-01
“…The goal of this article is thus to propose a theoretically grounded and empirically validated analytical framework for the study of crowd-machine interaction and its environment. Based on a scoping review and several cross-sectional analyses of research studies comprising hybrid forms of human interaction with AI systems and applications at a crowd scale, the available literature was distilled and incorporated into a unifying framework comprised of taxonomic units distributed across integration dimensions that range from the original time and space axes in which every collaborative activity take place to the main attributes that constitute a hybrid intelligence architecture. …”
