My research had four main objectives: (1) to determine whether the nutritional composition of forage from species-rich grasslands was comparable to commercial livestock feeds, (2) to assess the bioenergy output of biomass from species-rich grasslands compared to current bioenergy feedstocks, (3) to determine the effect of land use change and agricultural intensification on microbial diversity, and (4) to determine whether grassland biodiversity was stable or changed (temporally and spatially) over time. …”
