A convenient method for lactonization of α-allyl esters using iodine in dimethyl- sulphoxide
A simple method for the synthesis of α-γ-disubstituted-γ-butyrolactones by cyclization of α-allyl esters using iodine in dimethylsulphoxide is reported.
