Electric Field Coupling in the Ionosphere-Magnetosphere System (b. Electric Fields and Current System) (Proceeding of the Second Symposium on Coordinated Observations of the Ionosphere and Magnetosphere in the Polar Regions : Part I)
Because of the high electrical conductivity along geomagnetic field lines, the ionosphere and the magnetosphere are closely couoled. After an introductory presentation of some evidence of this coupling, the method for mathematical modeling of the lonosphere-magnetosphere system is discussed.
