Inscribing Trans and Intersex People in the Dominant Binary Categories of Gender

The predicament of trans and intersex people raises the question of the domination of social values inherent in gender binaries. The belief in a fixed gender identity is pervasive among most psychiatrists, medical doctors, judges, and psychologists.
