Chilies First Nobel Prize Winner Gabriela Mistral
Gabriela Mistral (1889-1975) was a Chilean poet,educator,diplomat who was the first Latin American to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, in 1945. Some central themes in her poems are nature, love, a mother’s love. Mistral herself was of Aymara descent.
