SAMBAS, BATUQUES, VOZERIAS AND PUBLIC FARSAS: THE SOCIAL CONTROL ON SLAVES IN PERNAMBUCO (1850 - 1888).

This work deals with the abolition of corporal punishment and the extinction of many of these prohibitions to free men eaten in the municipal positions of Pernambuco. These changes were effects not only of the gradual abolition but also of the new problems that arose in the control of the slaves.
