Summary:Employees who have high goal commitment are very concerned with organizational goals. Otherwise, employees who have low goal commitment did not care organization goals can be achieved or not. Participation affect employee commitment to organizational goals. Participation provides opportunities for information exchange and negotiation, creating a perception that the goals has specific, realistic and a sense of belonging to the goals. This study aims to examine the effect of participation in strategic planning based on the balanced scorecard (BSC) to increase goal commitment and to generate strategic plan based on the BSC in a foundation. This study involved 16 subjects in a foundation. Measurement of goal commitment using goal commitment scale. Quantitative data analysis with Repeated Measures ANOVA. The result showed that there was no significant increase of goal commitment (F = .500 and p = .611) after attending a participatory strategic planning based on BSC.
