| description | The title compound, (C4H12N)[V(C12H8N4O2)O2]·H2O, was synthesized via aerial oxidation on refluxing picolinohydrazide with ethyl picolinate followed by addition of VIVO(acac)2 and diethylamine in methanol. It crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system in space group P\overline{1}. In the complex anion, the dioxidovanadium(V) moiety exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. In the crystal, extensive hydrogen bonding links the water molecule to two complex anions and one diethylammonium ion. One of the CH2 groups in the diethylamine is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.7:0.3 ratio. |
