The Misfortunes of a Word-Watcher: A Reading of Iris Murdoch’s A Word Child
I propose a reading of Iris Murdoch’s A Word Child and show how her novel resonates with important themes in Ludwig Wittgenstein’s Philosophical Investigations, such as the idealization of language. I go on to highlight the ethical significance of such an idealization.
