Description
Summary:« How can a balance between historiographical success and player entertainment be created? Solving that question may produce the greatest ongoing benefit to both the academic field and the development world » (Kempshall, 2020, p. 14). The videogame research-creation project presented in this article is an attempt to realize such a balance. After introducing what an “historian” approach to videogame design is and which questions it could address, we present our own project that seeks to explore how “historical material” is affected by its integration in a videogame, but also how this integration affects the communication of play in return.
