Description
Summary:If video games as serious game have entered classrooms as a learning medium, can it be a reading medium? When video game is presented as an adaptation of a literary work, then it results both from an appropriative process and from the creativity specific to its creators. In the context of the didactics of reading, we wondered if video game would allow pupils to immerse themselves in fiction in developing an « experience of the universe » or « an experience of the story » (Lemarchand-Thieurmel, 2017) and thus to accompany them in the reading of a complex literary heritage work. Our contribution observes, within the framework of an exploratory research, the influence of a video game inspired by the novel La bête humaine of Zola, created by students of BTS, with a class of second graders. This exploratory research aims to define if the game has an obvious influence on young people and if it affects certain student profiles more.
