Summary:Training “2.0 teachers”: Modern languages teaching between textbooks and new technologies. Using the term ‘new technologies’ is one of today’s big issues. 2.0 Teachers use them not only as a teaching device, but also as means to transform classes into a new and lively environment where one can construct his knowledge, exchanging meanings, producing senses, interacting… Starting from this point on, the article focuses on how theoretical background and practical suggestions have been received by TFA trainees and have been applied to the activities developed during their actual training. From the CD to You Tube, from the Smart Board to corpora, some of the tools and the related activities will be analyzed in order to define the readiness and capability of nowadays teachers to keep up with technological progress in classroom and the actual accessibility of the ‘school of the future’ to technologies applied to foreign language teaching.
