Improving the specificity of nucleic acid detection with endonuclease-actuated degradation

A new method, SENTINEL, improves the specificity of nucleic acid target sequence identification via a combination of isothermal amplification and sequence-specific DNA endonucleases. The method can discriminate single base-pair differences and takes less than 1 h to complete.
