description | The aim of this article is to show how several scholars, historians of art and literature, have focused, in order to go against the original lexicological flaw of the Baroque, on making its history from disciplinary paradigms. Indeed, to speak of the baroque is often to defend a particular method or field of knowledge. However, in some respects, it seems that the baroque is characterized by its interdisciplinarity, even by its omnidisciplinarity. It is, however, above all, or at least primarily, to the history of art that the concept of baroque is connected. Therefore, it is important to grasp and unfold a singular hermeneutic trajectory : that of the migration of the Baroque from the history of art to the history of literature. In order to determine how and why this is accomplished, the challenge is to evaluate the role played in this process by the concordance of the analysis and definition of the baroque with a phenomenological approach, understood as highlighting the pervasiveness, both in art and in literature defined as such by critics, of the sensitive : by going back to its primary sources in order to grasp the emotional protocol engaged in by the works they study, the latter turn the baroque into a style of life. |
