Summary:The current technological configuration of the Internet is being drawn from the increase of the data transmission speed, from the interconnection between computational machines with robust processing capacity and storage of data, and from the storage use of sophisticated programming languages, which allow the handling of immense and complex data bases. In this technological level of the network, the practice of the journalism professional sophisticates towards other areas of human knowledge, namely the field of Computer Sciences. The need for an understanding of computational logics will enable the data journalist the use of new possibilities in the treatment of information and data, finding out new appro- aches to information of social relevance, new facts, and sources of alternative information.
