Abstract Two-dimensional carbide MXenes (Ti3C2T x and V2CT x ) were prepared by exfoliating MAX phases (Ti3AlC2 and V2AlC) powders in the solution of sodium fluoride (NaF) and hydrochloric acid (HCl).
