Amygdala–pons connectivity is hyperactive and associated with symptom severity in depression

A study on patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) suggests that a specific sadness-processing connection between the amygdala and pons appears to be dysfunctional among people with MDD and associated with severity of depression.
