We isolated a series of POL7080-resistant strains with mutations in the two-component sensor gene pmrB. Transcriptomic and confocal microscopy studies support a resistance mechanism shared with colistin, involving lipopolysaccharide modifications that mitigate antibiotic cell surface binding. |
