description No single playbook can be a universal template for success. Each corporation is a living entity, complete with a history, context, culture, market, and group of people that make it up. Understanding the needs of the business now, with an eye to the goals it seeks to later accomplish, is critical to developing a tailored approach and being an effective leader. This research explores a series of initiatives and the interplay amongst them, across four key focus areas at PSI Power & Control, a middle-market job shop that assembles custom electrical distribution and control products for industrial consumers. These areas include data models, inventory & supply chain, production operations, and processes & strategic planning. Optimizing for simple, effective solutions to break down barriers to growth led, in part, to the successful development of live, actionable, and interactive data visualizations; predictive inventory management solutions; visual management operational implementations; and a formal new product design process.
