Sammanfattning:This paper explores how to translate diasporic literature, refers to several concepts such as the travel theory, cultural translation, root-route interaction, and hybridity, taking Eileen Chong's 32 poems as the case study. Through translation practice, this paper explains how to look at the cultural symbols in diasporic literature in a dynamic and inclusive way, how to grasp the relationship between root and route, how to manage emotional changes, how to locate the flow of roots, how to grasp centripetal and centrifugal forces imposed on root-route interaction, and how to reproduce the emotional tension in another language. Besides, this paper also mentions how to achieve the formal and phonetic beauty for poetry translation.
