Dynamic traffic grooming on SONET/WDM rings using tunable OADMs

The theme of this project is mainly to propose a few online routing algorithms with the objective of optimising the performance of tunable OADMs in WDM rings. These algorithms will be evaluated under different traffic loads, different numbers of wavelengths per fibre, as well as different numbers an...

description The theme of this project is mainly to propose a few online routing algorithms with the objective of optimising the performance of tunable OADMs in WDM rings. These algorithms will be evaluated under different traffic loads, different numbers of wavelengths per fibre, as well as different numbers and different types (with different tenability) of OADMs in the networks. Finally, some general guidelines of how to efficiently utilize tunable OADMs are proposed. These general guidelines may benefit the network operators, and provide a good basis for the future further research as well.
