Summary: | The study aims at testing the influence of work environment support (i.e.
support from supervisor and coworkers) and non-work environment support (i.e.
family support) on the employees creativity and at testing the role of intrinsic
motivation mediation in the influence of work environment and non-work
environment support on the employees creativity. The subjects of the study were 132
employees that worked as editorial staffs (redactors) in mass media industry in
Pekanbaru City, Province of Riau.
The study shows that coworkers support gave positive influence on the
employees creativity and intrinsic motivation partially mediated the influence of
coworkers support on the employees creativity. However, hypothesis test showed
that supervisor support did not give positive and significant influence on the
employees creativity. On the other hand, intrinsic motivation partially mediated the
influence of coworkers support on the employees creativity. Moreover, the result of
hierarchical regression analysis showed that intrinsic motivation that mediated the
influence of supervisor support and family support on the employees creativity was
not confirmed.
