Summary:Customer loyalty is important for the survival of a business. Since loyal customers understand the product they purchased, make repeated purchases, and spread it to others. Customer loyalty relates to customer retention which represents a percentage of number of customers who perform a number of repeated purchases in a certain period. English First (EF) Cibubur has a quite low customer retention rate. This study was done by this condition. This study analyzed the effect of competitive strategy from EF Cibubur to its customer retention rate, and also identified the SWOT of EF Cibubur. Thus this SWOT was used to determine the basic steps that applicable to EF Cibubur in the effort to raise the level of customer retention. As the result of this study, it may conclude that strategy that currently applied in EF Cibubur was less effective in retaining existing customers. Improving quality in both services and products and being consistent in innovating is an alternative strategy that can be applied by EF Cibubur as an effort to improve customer retention rates.
