Summary: | China experienced environmental pollution due to increased activities during the 35 years of industrialization, which began since the era of Deng Xiaoping with Gaige Kaifang in 1978. The WTO and the Kyoto Protocol were international regimes joined by China and had a role in efforts to reduce industrial pollution on the Chinas environment. The less successful efforts made by both international regimes were due to the limited role that could be done by both regimes in suppressing the Chinese government to seriously pay attention to environmental sustainability. Although the success rate of the indirect role attempted by the WTO and the Kyoto Protocol had not yet been proven successful, the efforts done by both regimes to participate and to reduce environmental pollution due to industrialization in China still continued to run. |
