Substantive equality revisited: A rejoinder to Catharine MacKinnon

Professor MacKinnon argues that the single principle of substantive equality is that of social hierarchy. Hierarchy, in the sense of relationships of domination and subordination, is of course central to my conception of the right to substantive equality.
