description The migration in Southeast Asia happened a long time ago and it indirectly contributed to the impact of increasing the population among the countries in the region.Apart from that, migration workers also contributed in economic impact towards the region in enjoying certain benefits. The transition pattern from agricultural based activity to industrial and imbalanced between the population with job opportunities and also the level of education development of one country are always the main factors to the migration.Furthermore, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) can be considered as an indicator to economy stability because it can give a direct effect in relationship between salary and level of economic development in one country.This condition finally will lead to instability of economy among the countries in the region and then, the migration phenomenon cannot be avoided.In rational, a man will migrate if the action will benefit him and his obligation. Countries such as Philippine and Indonesia are not only become the contributors in foreign workers in Southeast Asia region but to the other parts of the world.This situation was caused by poor economic performance in both countries, increasing of unemployment level and also political stability to be at stake.For that, governments of both countries are always encouraging their citizen to migrate to another country in order to stabilize the economy by reducing the unemployment and remittance send by their citizen that working at overseas.Malaysia and Thailand are among main importers of semi skilled and unskilled foreign workers especially from regional countries.Meanwhile, Singapore is more on importing skilled workers and put on high requirement in engaging semi skilled or unskilled workers.This working paper will look through the phenomenon of foreign workers in Southeast Asia countries such as Indonesia, Philippine, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore especially in administrative aspect and economic development impact on those countries.
